Marilyn Hall, JD, heads the firms Medicaid Department. Marilyn was born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens, New York. She attended York College of the City University of New York where she was active in student government and clubs. She graduated Cum Laude and was the recipient of the Vera B. Douthit Memorial Award. She then graduated from South Texas College of Law, and after running a private general practice in Houston, Texas, has concentrated on estate planning and Medicaid on Long Island for the past twelve years.

Marilyn joined Russo, Karl, Widmaier & Cordano in 2000 when she was welcomed by the firm to expand their elder law department. She joins the firm's team of elder law professionals in assisting individual clientele, as well as their families, with all facets of elder law and estate planning. Her focus is on estate planning, asset protection and Medicaid financial planning, applications, home care issues and nursing home placement. As the field of Medicaid is constantly evolving, she stays on top of the new regulations by regularly attending seminars and studying the new rules. Whether planning in advance or at the time of need, Marilyn structures the entire plan for each client, including asset protection and resolving specific health care issues.

Marilyn has been a guest speaker at various assisted living facilities and senior groups and has lectured on the topics of elder law, medicaid and estate planning. She is enthusiastic about her area of expertise and provides a plain language approach to the complex issues of estate and asset protection planning, medicaid qualification and other related issues to ensure an understanding on the part of the client that is essential to a good working relationship.

Marilyn resides in East Northport with her family. For the past 14 years, she has been an active volunteer in the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County. She is the Council Delegate, a troop leader, the Older Girl Consultant for her service unit, Team Member, coordinates the Silver Award Ceremony for the Town of Huntington and is the webmaster and designer of their website. In the past she has served on her PTA in the positions of editor and Council Secretary and tutored for the Fortune Society.
